Headquartered in Nisswa, MN, our company was founded in 2003 by a coalition of experts in the wood finish, wood product, and wood home markets. As a small privately held corporation, our priority is producing high-quality products that produce an attractive premium exterior wood finish at competitive prices.

Breakthrough technology

Among our founding experts were the visionaries who brought a breakthrough translucent technology from Europe to the United States market. This breakthrough technology was originally developed and formulated by competing Dutch and Scandinavian wood coating manufacturers. It was widely used, and successful, throughout Western Europe, but virtually unknown to those of us in the United States market until the 1970s.

introducing Structures Wood Care’S Alkyd oil finish – NatureColor®.

Utilizing our knowledge and experience, in 2003 we enhanced the proven European-based finish technology and introduced Structures Wood Care NatureColor^® Base Coat and NatureColor^® Recoater to the United States market. 

ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE PRODUCTS, Structures Wood Care’s – NatureOne®.

Answering the demand for environmentally safe products, we introduced NatureOne^® 100% Acrylic Exterior in 2004. This water-based coating, combining cutting-edge European resins and American technology, is perfect for outdoor natural wood structures and is both environmentally safe as well as translucent. In 2006, we expanded the line to five colors.  NatureOne^® Renew was brought to the market in 2008. This water-based maintenance coat is colorless and incorporates nanotechnology in its three-pronged UV protection.

Since we are based out of northern Minnesota, we know what harsh weather can do to the exterior finish of your wood home. We began with an emphasis on producing products that could withstand just about anything Mother Nature throws at it, and, we have accomplished what we had set out to do — we have created innovative wood care solutions for our customers.

GROWING AND EXPANDING

In 2003, Gary and Leslie Severson were part of the coalition of experts who created Structures Wood Care, Inc.  Gary and Leslie have owned, and directed the growth of Structures Wood Care to be the company it is today.  On March 1^st, 2024 Michael and Anna Murray took over ownership of Structures Wood Care, Inc.  They are two new visionaries who will carry this remarkable company forward while continuing to maintain the integrity of the NatureColor^® and NatureOne^® products, and continuing to provide our customers with an exterior wood finish they can rely on.
